The Wolf Hunt and Bank Robbery

A new CD of the 1907 films.  The SWOHS board of directors decided to take these two silent films, research them, attach a sound track, and make them available to the public.

History

Local historian, Herbert Woesner of Cache, OK., deserves recognition for his role in relocating these two films in the National Archives in Washington D.C. during the late 1960's.

He discovered them there and paid a $200 fee to have the film converted from the paper negative into a 16mm film that could be shown on the 16mm school projectors of that time.

Over the intervening years Mr. Woesner's films disappeared while on loan to someone.  We, the SWOHS, having been interested in making the public aware of their existence were able to use copies held by the Oklahoma Historical Society. We dusted them off and added Hank Elling's researched narrative to this amazing piece of SW Oklahoma history.
